To reach out to our community and beyond to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and deed, and to welcome people into this body of Christ where we might all be filled with God's strength and vision.

The Lytle United Methodist Church is firmly grounded in the Wesleyan tradition expressed by John Wesley, a tradition that combines conservative evangelical teachings with a strong call to Christion service and action.

The teaching of our church is based squarely on the Bible and the great historic creeds of the church, including the Apostle's Creed. We believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and that we are saved wholly and completely by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We also believe that once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, Jesus calls us on a journey toward wholeness and holiness - a journey, empowered by the Holy Spirit, that leads to inner changes and outward action.

Like John Wesley, who preached the gospel to coal miners one day and took food to jail prisoners the next, we believe true Christian faith invariably leads to both evangelism and mission work. Therefore we believe the mission of our church is to be involved on a daily basis with making disciples by preaching and teaching the good news and to be involved on a daily basis with loving our neighbors by feeding the hungry and sheltering the poor.
